Public Contacts Folder > Address List > Offline
Hi Experts, Was wondering if someone could validate the following. We have a situation where we distribute Contacts to a Public Folder in Exchange. So far all works fine. Now, I was wondering if we can create automatic address lists based on the Public Folder Contacts based on the category of the Contact. Furthermore, we would like to have these address lists in an Offline Outlook mode available as well. Really do hope this can be a working solution. I'm not an expert in this area and have to 'battle' our Exchange admin. Thanks for your help, Sebastiaan.

Hi Sebastiaan, Sebastiaan, please understand that Address Lists gather information from AD while the Public Folder Contacts information are stored in the Information Store of Exchange Server. Thus, I would like to explain that there is no automatic method to sync the Public Folder Contacts with GAL. Nevertheless, I have a workaround to export the Public Folder contacts from Information Store and import them into AD manually. You can check whether it is able to meet your requirements. 1. Export the Public Folder Contacts by using the following tool: Note: Please select the related fields need to be imported into AD later http://www.codetwo.com/pages/freeware/outlook_export.php 2. Modify the related attribute name and import them by using the csvde tool For your reference regarding the csvde tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327620/en-us Note 1: We need to ensure that the column maps the correspond attribute name in AD. Note 2: The following attributes are required at least. For otehr attributes, you can add them yourself. dn obectClass displayName If he is an email enabled contact, you also need to add the following two attributes: mailNickname targetAddress Mike
